THE event of the year at The Sage

Hi guys,

One of my mates is involved in organising a charity doo at the Sage and I said I would try and help get the word round. It sounds like it's going to be a really cool gig - performers include Paul Weller, Jools Holland and the Futureheads as well as his own band, The Hungover Stuntmen, to name but a few!

All profits from the gig will be going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The money will mainly be going towards building a new ward at the RVI in Newcastle so it's a really good cause and keeps the money in the North East.

A message from Gareth Underwood

Hi Folks,

As you may or may not I am running the Great North Run on 1st October to raise money for Asthma UK. Asthma plays a part in many people's lives and restricts them in every activity that they do. Asthma UK is dedicated to help prevent the many deaths that asthma causes through prevention and also education.

When I was younger asthma played a huge part in my life but the help and support I received to help me control my asthma has enabled me to overcome and control my asthma so that it does not affect me at all. I am raising money to to thank them for the help that they have given me.

The Inter Sage Cricket Challenge Match 2006

Ten years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new team, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their wickets that that team might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this, remembering that this game counts towards your average.

The Sage challenge match takes place at Percy Main CC on Sunday 3rd September 2006. Starting at 1.30 pm all are welcome to attend this family fun day. Following the cricket match there is a BBQ and end of season presentations. More importantly throughout the day, the Percy Main bar will be open.

There will be a superb barbeque after the game for all players, family and friends as a send off to the successful 2006 season. Please email cricket@sage.com with an idea of numbers attending.

The official Sage photographer will be on hand during the day for those seminal photos.

After the match we will be presenting the Sage CC club awards for 2006.

After a season of toil and battle, the Sage team have officially won promotion to division three with a tally exceeding 90 points.

Well done to everyone involved in the club for all of their hard work, effort and enthusiasm.
