CCC progressed to the second round of the Plate competition with a convincing win against unbeaten Division 4 team EAGA Old Boys at Seaton Burn on Monday. EAGA presented a professional impression with names and numbers on their shirts, a pre-match team talk, and the batting order on a white board in their changing room, but they were made to look amateurish as CCC eased to 124-4 from 14 overs. Alan Fletcher top scored with 44 not out, while Arif hit a quick fire 22. In response Ru took three early wickets to immediately wreck EAGA's chances. Phil, Guy and Arif all chipped in with wickets, and CCC debutant Adam Holroyd took three catches behind the stumps as the home side finished on 66-7.
