2015 Was a good season; might have been even better

Won the Plate at Jesmond and finished third in the First Division, missing out by only three points. Ben O'Brien and Hasan Raza each get 5 Man of the Matches; Don Catley 3. Averages to follow when Andy supplies remaining batting stats - could be 2020!!

Adders Shoot Down the Eagles!

Rob Tulip and Roy Haygarth contrived to lose the toss so we fielded first at Pont. Ant Quarrell hit three fours off the first over from Peter Finch but then Pratty tied them down well. Finch grabbed a brace in his third over with two superb C&Bs for 3-0-27-2 and Pratty stayed tidy with 3-0-20-0. Hassan Raza and Don Catley then had marginally more runs off as some wickets fell and so did the light! Ben O'Brien with a good catch in the deep started off Don's 4-0-32-3 haul followed by a catch at the stumps by James Hays and another plumb LBW! New boy Raza was useful with 4-0-31-1 bowled in a good all round fielding performance with the skipper threatening any misdemeanours! 158-6 was the Pont posting in 14 overs.

Adders snaked home before the weather became too intolerable thanks to six hitting Ben O'Brien's undefeated 69, aided mainly by Jim Carr with a steadier 22. Opener Raza hit 10 and Roy gloved an LBW for 5. Mike Marshall did not trouble the scorers and Hays was 0* as a 6 wicket victory was recorded in 11.4 overs ahead of heavier rain. Nine points to the Adders.

Adders have a new look and success in 2014!

Adders included several new recruits in 2014 and achieved the runners up spot in the top flight! The irrepressible Andy Bryant contrived 7 wins from the 10 league fixtures and progress through the earlier rounds of the cup. The squad was strengthened by formar Rowlands players and other good pals of captain Andy.

Following a simulated golfing social in December, the official AGM to be held early in 2015 is now anticipated. Net practice will be announced in due course whilst the keen ones eagerly await the 2015 season which commences with an away fixture at Pont Eagles on Tuesday 28th April.

Adders back to winning ways

After losing to Fenham last week, Adders got back to winning ways last night with victory at home over Monkseaton Saints. With an excellent bowling display restricting Monkseaton to 91-3 from their 14 overs, Adders achieved the total in the 13th over with 7 wickets in hand. Well done to everyone who played!
