Genetics: 100/4 (14 overs)
Oceans CC cemented their place at the top of division two with a routine victory over second placed Genetics. Genetics came into the match with hopes of finishing first but their dreams remained just that as they were convincingly beaten by a resurgent Oceans.
Having been put to bat, Oceans started cautiously with the bat as Genetics bowled very well to both Gopal and Wally. Oceans patiently made there way too 39/2 from 5 overs. Simon looked in good nick before departing but this left the stage to Ali and Sonu who produced a magnificent partnership to resurrect the innings. Ali was very watchful early on but found his range as the innings progressed. The captain played a sensible innings and rotated the strike well. Both these set batsmen also took risks which payed off and with the help off Naveen later on, took Oceans to an excellent 145/9 from their 14 overs.
Genetics were somewhat static in there reply as they never got going. they failed to pierce the gaps and applied too much pressure on themselves. Oceans were very disciplined and deserved to take more wickets. Genetics left too many in the final 5 overs and Oceans sailed to a crucial win and a return of 9 points in what was a pivotal match for both teams.
Man of the match: Ali Quereshi
