Oceans:
116/9 (16 overs) Kurt 31 not out
Belmont 117/3 (11 overs) D Reynolds 37
An out of sorts Oceans lost their unbeaten home league record this season as Belmont cruised to victory in a comprehensive manner. Belmont won the toss and put Oceans into bat in a 16 overs match. Oceans got off to a flying start as they put on 25 for the first wicket inside two overs. However, this was as good as it got for Oceans as they wastefully gave their wickets away to Belmont due to poor shot selections. Belmont claimed five major scalps inside 7 overs as Oceans were left reeling on 50/6. Kurt 31 not out and Ratty 13 steadied the ship to some extent before the latter being stumped as Oceans were 87/7 from 13 overs. Kurt carried his bat to the end and played a determined innings and with the help from Gulam 10 not out in the end managed to get Oceans to a below par score off 116/9 from there 16 overs.
Belmont were very ruthless in pursuit of the target and took a wayward Wally for 17 from his first over. Oceans struggled to contain the Belmont batsman as they found the boundaries at regular intervals. All the Oceans bowler were taken to the cleaners except for Kurt and Belmont managed to reach there target in the 11th over. This was a disappointing performance from Oceans but credit must be given to Belmont who were superb.
