Scores:
CCC: 103/5 (14 overs) Wally 4-0-25-3
Oceans: 104/4 (9.6 overs) Gopal 30, Rian 20 not out
Oceans CC continued there dominance of division two by beating a strong CCC side. This victory was all the more impressive considering Oceans missed five regulars who missed out due to work commitments.
Oceans won the toss and elected to field in a 14 overs match. Some brilliant bowling from Wally and Naveen really kept the hosts in trouble early on and they simply could not recover has the boundaries were a rare sight. CCC never really put any pressure on the Ocean bowlers who really complimented each other and bowled well in tandem. Wally was the star of the show with three wickets including a stunning delivery which got rid of dangerman Nick. Gulam and Rian were very disciplined and bowled with lot of thought and imagination. CCC finished strongly in the final over as they enjoyed there best over as Wally went for 16 runs and they finished on a below par 103/5 off there 14 overs.
Oceans boosted by the return of Usman were more ruthless and aggressive when they started there chase. Both Wally and Usman put on thirty for the first wicket inside three overs before both departing in quick succession. However, Gopal and Rian did not let this phase them as they went about there business in a similar fashion. The inform Gopal continued his rich vein of form by hitting 30 which included three sixes before falling lbw. Rian moved on steadily against his former team and when skipper Sonu fell cheaply in pursuit of a quick finish, Rian gave the captain his wish when he scored the remaining 12 off the tenth over to give Oceans maximum batting points. Both Rian 20 not out and Ratty 3 not out were unbeaten in the end as Oceans finished on 104/4 off ten overs.
