Genetics gained revenge for their loss earlier in the season to Cooksons in convincing style during the week with victory by 7 wickets. Sent in to bat, Cooksons were tied down by some very tight bowling with the new ball by Chris Mee and Brian Taylor. They were given good support by Grant Mason and Gary van Doorn with 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Although they threatened to rack up a decent total, the Cooksons innings ran out of steam and they ended up on 98 for 7. In reply, Andrew Porteous and Mike Gardner set off at a furious pace, and batting sensibly, they put on 82 for the first wicket in 10 overs to put the game beyond any doubt as Genetics ran out easy winners.
