On the eve of the game against Black Widows, the captain has spoke about the need to win well, "First and foremost we must win the match, and then be ruthless about doing it properly. We must not be complacent and be ready to go from the off. With Sparta also getting maximum points from there last game, we must look to target all 10 again or atleast 9.I will be drilling that into the players before the match and the need to be clinical".
Ratty also spoke about the threat of Widows,"they ran us very close last time.We just edged it in the last over. They are a threat, but I believe if we focus then there will only be one result. We need to maintain the pressure on Sparta, we are eyeing top spot and want to be the number one team.We will continue trying hard in every match to reach our goal.I just want another good and positive performance from the boys, and I know I will get it.They are a great bunch of lads with bag loads of talent.I hope to see a peformance from Rian who is due one.It should be a good game, with hopefully us winning".

After an emphatic win last night against Hylton CC, Ratty has today praised his team for the manner in which the victory was achieved,"It was a professional performance all around to be honest.Every one played there part in this resounding win, and they can be very happy with there effort. We played with, flair, elegance and a touch of class. The bowlers set the game up with Arsalan, and especially James magnificent. The fielding was also the best we have done this season. We were poor last week in the field, but today we picked it up big time and looked a decent team in the field. If we put it together, we can be as good as anyone, but sadly we also have offdays".
The captain was also delighted with the maximum return of points,"We targeted 10 points from this game, and we deservedly got them. Its never easy getting 10 points, and its the second time we have got them.Hopefully, this result will be more evidence in our drive and determination to be the number one team in this division. We are on course, and am sure this result will put big pressure on Sparta to maintain there unbeaten start. We now look forward to our next game against Black Widows, and I am confident we can put in another good performance".

Oceans CC produced a magnificent performance against Hylton last night at a very sunny Bullocksteads. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first in a 16 overs match.Hylton could only muster a poor 53 all out in 11 overs. It was a dreadful effort to say the least, but a lot of that had to be put down to the brilliant bowling and fielding efforts of Oceans CC.Catches were taken in nearly every position, and a superb run out was also manufactured. In reply, Oceans got the runs in 7.5 overs with the score being 55/3.Rian and Ratty batted sensibly and intelligently to get the team home. But to be honest, they were never put under any pressure against a poor Hylton side.

After Oceans CC beated Stocksfield Wanderers in devastating fashion, the captain today spoke of the win."It was important we won and go on another unbeaten run.I was very confident before that we would win given the nature of the side we had, and credit to the boys for playing so well.although that won innings will be remembered rightly so more than the win, it was just as important to get another victory".
The captain then spoke about Arsalan Rahim and his record breaking innings of 205 not out,"Well he is a special player, a world class player who can win the game with both bat and ball.He is a dream for a captain to have because he just loves winning and wants to be the one to do it.It was the most explosive batting we have ever seen, and we honestly thought it was a dream. The players were not shocked because he has this natural ability to hit the ball, and I believe he is easily the most dangerous player in the league. We are just glad he is part of our team, and stays an integral part of it.We have other great players as well, and they too are very dangerous in there own ways.I felt sorry for Stocksfield because you can't set a field to that.I have nothing but praise for the lad".
The captain quickly focued on the next game against Hylton,"We have another big game coming up, they are all huge at this time of the year. With Sparta also winning again, we must do our job and beat Hylton to keep the pressure on them.I want the boys to pick the intensity up in the field because we were lacklustre against Stocksfield. But in all honesty, I think a lot of that had to do with the innings that had gone on before.I expect another victory and know my boys will deliver for me".

On thursday 18th June 2009 was a very special day in the short history of Oceans CC.Oceans visited Stocksfield Wanderers knowing only victory would do to keep the pressure on the leaders. But not only victory was achieved, it was a day that will be remembered forever.Ratty won the toss and elected to bat, and what a decision it proved to be.Oceans CC posted an incredible 244/2 off 14 overs.Better news were to come, the opening batsman known as Arsalan Rahim blasted a unbelievable 205 not out and broke the previous record of Haji which was 192 from Yaars. This was a brutal assault on the bowlers with 3 sixes and fours being hit every over.It was brilliant entertainment for the people who witnessed it and even Stocksfield had to hold there hands up and say it were the best hitting they have ever seen.In reply, Stocksfield scored a respectable 146/6 off there 14 overs against a relaxed fielding effort from Oceans CC.But this day will all be remembered for that innings by A.Rahim which will long live in our hearts.
