In the wake of the victory over Stocksfield last night, the captain praised his team for there fighting spirit,"I thought we maybe relaxed earlier on by thinking it was an easy game and therefore lost our concentration. However like so many times this season, somebody always puts there hand up and plays a blinder. The innings from Sonu and Rian was a gritty partnership that relied a lot on hard work. They played exceptionally well on a difficult wicket and deserve a lot of credit for our win. They are both lovely lads, and showed the fighting spirit that we display in our team".
The captain also payed tribute to all of the bowlers for there brilliant display,"We never started well, they were scoring 10 a over. However, Rian bowled very intelligently and was not giving much away.It was a crucial spell because it gave the other bowlers confidence and they soon started to find there line again.I am just glad we got through this game unscathed and it was also great to get 10 points.I am looking for a similar return today against Park House".

Oceans entertained bottom of the table Stocksfield Wanderers last night in a potentialy tricky fixture.Stocksfield had nothing to lose in this game and everything to gain against high flying Oceans. When the toss took place, Oceans won the toss and elected to bat in bowling friendly conditions. They were in big trouble early on losing 4 wickets for only 44 runs. However, stubborn resistance and class was shown by Sonu 51 not out and Rian 24 and they somehow managed to get Oceans to a respectable 115/5 off there 14 overs. It was a crucial partnership by two very fine batsman. In reply, Stocksfield started brilliantly scoring 40 in there first 4 overs. However the game changed by an excellent decision by the captain who brought Arsalan from the opposite end and he soon struck with vital blows which dented any hopes of an unlikely victory for the visitors.A huge mention also should go to Rian who bowled a breathtaking spell of 4 overs which only went for 13 runs, and with one wicket to show.Stocksfield finished on 75 all out in only 14 overs. All the bowlers did exceptionally well, and Oceans fully deserved there return of maximum points. They now entertain Park House today in another game they will be hoping to win.

In what was billed as the biggest match in the short history of Oceans CC, the captain has today spoke about the emphatic win over Sparta last night and his delight at regaining the number one spot,"Well what can I say, everything went according to plan. There was a lot of tension beforehand with the stakes being so high, and I am sure there were a lot of nerves in both dressing rooms. I did say that the team that will hold there nerve will win and we managed to hold it at the right times today. My team was absolutely maginificent today, and I praise each and every individual today for there efforts they put in and the desire they showed. They deserve so much praise, and have shown a lot of love for there club. They gave me everything last night, and getting to the number one position just caps a truly memorable day for us".
Khan also payed a glowing tribute to his bowlers A.Rahim and R.Rian for there early spell and also the brilliance of U.Aziz with the bat,"We were especially pumped up today and I had no hesitation throwing the bowl to A.Rahim and R.Rian.They are two outstanding bowlers, and are in a league of there own. They ripped into there line up and set the game up for us.They were unplayable and it was goodt to watch great seam movement for a change. It was that spell that had won us the game. Then when it came to batting, our own BOOM BOOM turned up and took the game away within a blink of an eye.He shifted the momentum back our way, and played a match winning innings. When he is in that type of form, he really is unstoppable. All of the batsman played well, Rian, Sonu,Arsalan and Ali all got into double figures quickly to win us the game comfortably with 2 overs still to go".
Khan later confessed, Sparta had simply not scored enough,"It was a tremendous batting wicket, and I think 160 would have been a comptetive score.Even though they scored them runs towards the end of their innings, I told my team not to panic and we will get the runs easily because it was a good batting wicket".
Khan will also now make sure complacency does not set in with two home game coming up against Stocksfield and Parkhouse,"The work has not been done yet, we still have three games to go and must play like this in them too.We will treat each and every game with the utmost respect, and there will definetely be no let up on our part.I always have said our goal is to finish the best team in this division, and we have taken another big step towards it.We have another three steps remaining to complete our goal".

It is officially confirmed. Oceans CC are the current leaders of division 5.Oceans CC comfortably beat Sparta last night at Cochrane Park in the most convincing ways possible. There was a lot of tension before this huge match, and the addition of the neutral umpires only added to the excitement.Sparta won the toss and elected to bat in a 16 overs match on a beautiful looking batting wicket. They were in all sorts of trouble early on, as an unbelievable spell from A.Rahim and R.Rian left them reeling on 64/7 off 12 overs. However, they somewhat recovered brilliantly with G.Roe 42 not out and Wilf 29 not out helping them to reach a score off 128/7 off there 16 overs. In reply, Oceans immediately swung the momentum of the match back they way thanks to some clean and brutal hitting from U.Aziz.He finished on 62 after sharing a excellent opening wicket stand of 74 in 8 overs with R.Rian who played an anchor role. This partnership really demoralised the Sparta spirit, and Oceans got home comfortably after finishing on 129/5 after just 14 overs. It was a comprehensive win for Oceans, and they now deservedly lead at the top.

After an excellent win over High Stables last night, the captain has today sent a defiant message to Sparta by insisting his team are relishing the prospect of bringing there unbeaten run to an end. The capatin was in buoyant mood after the game and said,"this was a really good win for us and will do wonders for our confidence. We were missing some big players last night who have been in great form, but it shows that somebody always puts there hand up and wants to take responsibility. After these two friendlies, we are well prepared now for Sparta, and are looking forward to it immensely.
The captain also talked about his own personal form after scoring a majestic 50 not out at almost his own pace,"I have not had much of a bat this season because the batsman have been great. However, I was delighted with the way I played and constructed my innings.I never gave a chance to the opposition, and tried to hit the gaps and rotate the strike as often as I could. We lost two wickets in quick time and then myself and Ali thought we would play very watchfully and get a partnership going. It was a wonderful partnership of over 100 at a run a ball, and he played beautifully as well. Also lets not forget the efforts from Rian at the top of the order, who played sensibly and got into sonme form too.It was a really good day allaround, and was capped off by a brilliant bowling display with Bilal and Asman bowling tidely and intelligently.
Khan is now excited to welcome back both Arsalan, and Sonu who missed the game,"They are two players in very good form, so are very important to us.I feel we as a team have peaked at the right time and everyone is on top of there game. The next 4 games are going to be very exciting and we can't wait".
