After being posed a series of questions by an unnamed member of the team, the captain has responded.
'In relation to most teams, our squad is relatively small. However the big challenge is to pick 11 players from this pool. The team will be picked on individuals playing regularly and consistently.Whoever plays in the opening games will have to play well to keep their positions in the team. They must behave responsibly and play for the team and not for themselves.I know I have a big job in keeping all my players happy, but that is part and parcel of sport today. In an ideal world, I would like to keep everyone happy, but this is reality and its not possible to do that. However, I can promise that each and every single player has a huge part to play this season in getting us promoted and that is a big enough challenge on its own. The team spirit in our team is fantastic.
Khan also talked about what improvements will be seen this season,'I think at times last season, there were quite a few voices heard in the field. However, the nature of my captaincy is that I do like to delegate with my players and know what their opinions might be of the situation. In relation to the cricket, I think we could improve certain aspects of our game. Our fielding was ok in some games and not good in others. I would like to see a few more of our batters to get in and make a big one.We relied heavily on a few last season who got us out of trouble but I am hoping others who are very talented will contribute a lot more to the cause.I thought we bowled brilliantly last season, and the aim will be to keep bowling consistent line and lengths.I think if we do these things right, then it will be really difficult for anybody to stop us.
Finally Khan was asked about what he feels his team can achieve this season,'Promotion! I honestly feel that from the bottom of my heart. It is going to be really difficult, there are some really good teams in this division. The beauty of my team is a 'never say die attitude'. We have a good blend of some experienced cricketers and youngsters. We will be right up there challenging, and there will be some ups and some downs along the way.I believe in my team and know everytime they enter the playing field, they have a real passion and desire to win. These ingredients are essential for any team challenging for promotion. The boys are really looking forward to the opening game and making a positive start.

The captain has today spoken about the importance of getting a good start to the season,"I think if your going to challenge in any league then you have to start positvely and that means going on a good winning run at the beginning. We found that to be very important last season because it gave us confidence in that we could beat anybody.I honsetly feel its a toss of a coin in who is going up this season. We have to make sure that we go on a good run early and pull ourselves away from the pack. When we did have that big setback against Sparta, we then went on a winning run that eventually won us the league. We were relentless and I feel we have to show the same kind of commitment to hold our own in this division.Make no mistake about it, these are very young boys in our team. But my expectations of them are big because I know each and every individual player inside out. They will be tested, but I believe in them to succeed and come out on the better side'.

Well 2010 is here upon us, and the cricket season is not too far away now. After the promotion winning season last year, Oceans will be hoping for another successful season. Today, I caught up with the Oceans skipper, and he had really big hopes for his team this season. 'In my opinion we deserved to be champions last year because I thought we played excellent cricket throughtout the season'. 'My team always fought very hard in games, and we were able to show a lot of mental resolve in some games where we were under pressure'.
Khan believes that the calibre of teams in this division makes it tough to get out of,'They are all great teams in this division, you have the teams that are coming down from the third division and ofcourse our old friends, three tuns, high stables, and sparta. I think it is going to go right down to the wire and the team that is going to be the most consistent will be promoted at the end'. Khan believes that his team does have a geniune chance of promotion,'Most definetely, we are going for promotion. We have top class players and if they perform to the levels they are capable of then it is going to be difficult to stop us'.
Khan also said that his team will be soon starting nets in prepartion for the season,'Hopefully, I will be able to sort out something within the next two weeks. It is important that we prepare properly and get enought out of these nets.I will make sure my team will be ready come the first game in April'.

After waking up today and learning that Oceans had sensationally won the league last night due to Sparta losing their final game, the captain was ecstatic and told his players to cherish this moment of success,"Winning any league is tough and it don't matter what division you are playing in.This bunch of players deserve so much praise for there efforts they have put in throughout the season. They have been absolutely magnificent with their contributions to the cause, and have always given me 110%.I can't thank them enough for making me such a proud captain and person today. There is a real spirit among our boys and we always urge each other and are very supportive of each other.I feel it is very important to have this love and affection for each other because it can take you a long way as a player and more importantly as a person too.We are a tight close unit, and I think it has shown in the cricket we have displayed this season.
The captain had some words of encouragment for heartbroken Sparta,"I really feel sorry for them and now exactly what they are feeling.Only last week we were down in the dumps after our defeat against Hylton. Its just life really, you can go from a low to high very quickly and vice-versa.They should be proud of there efforts too though because they have played good cricket and deserve to be promoted. They could easily have finished top but I think it was written in the stars that it was going to be us".
Khan also talked about the end of season presentations,"We can't wait for them now.Everybody wants to go and collect their medals. There will be a lot of happy faces on the 4th September, and we will now be counting down the days".
