The skipper has today spoken after Oceans produced a superb display against a good Sparta team. 'I am very pleased and was able to sleep a lot better last night. I thought we were very good in all departments of our game. I was disappointed to lose a lot of wickets towards the end but that was mainly down to guys trying to get on with it.It was very comfortable for us after we posted such a big score and I never felt Sparta would have got that score with the bowling resources I had at my disposal.
Khan praised the contributions of both Arsalan and Rian on a difficult batting wicket,'They were fantastic and put pressure on the Sparta bowlers. I felt they bullied them and I could see a few heads going down in the Sparta team. I particularly enjoyed Rian's innings. He got back to his old self again and this innings will do him the world of good.
Khan has now turned his attentions to the next league game which is away to Merz.'The table will look a lot promising for us this week. We are back on track and I'm hoping my team can maintain this form all season.I don't know much about Merz but any game away from home is tricky.I am looking forward to that game and hope we can put on another show.

Arsalan hot 29 off one over and Rian was back to the his bludgeoning best. Oceans lost a flurry off wickets in pursuit off quick runs. In reply, Sparta were never in th game due to disciplined bowling from the Oceans team.It was a case of survival and they ended up on a score of 91/7 off their 16 overs.

The captain today reflected on last nights poor display in Beamish.'Well what can I say, we were resoundedly beaten and deservedly so.Wre lost the game in the first part and you will never win any games at this level if you only score 73 runs.It was a poor return and only a miracle could have saved us.I must give credit to my bowlers who were excellent and made High Stables work really hard for their runs.We made it difficult for them but I wish we had showed the same kind of attitude early on in the match.
Khan also said his team missed the presence of Arsalan, Usman and Sonu who infact entered the fray as the last batsman due to not finding the ground,'It was unfortunate really that I never had these players at my disposal. The batting line up was very fragile and it showed. When I was out there in the middle I did my best to keep the innings going to the back end to give Sonu a chance if he did finally make an appearance. When he did we were 8 down and the damage had been done really. However regardless of the players we had missing, I must give big credit to High Stables who played magnifcently. They were the better team on the day and deserved to win.
Khan has told his team to forget about the result and focus on the rest of the season,'Its a blow, I must admit. My players are hurt after this defeat and we are very focused on our next league game against Sparta when I'm sure that we will have a full strength team.We have great character, and this team is very eager to fight back. However, we have a cup game next and our focus is on that.A good cup run normally coincides with a good league run too.Its a good thing the game is only a few days away, this will enable us to get this game out of our system.

Oceans CC were beaten in emphatic fashion by a very determined High Stables team last night at Beamish. Oceans entered the game missing key personnel and were duly founded out when they went in to bat. After having won the toss, Oceans collapsed to 74 all out in the space of 14 overs. At one stage Oceans were 21/5 off 8 overs and only Ratty managed any sort of resistance as he was the last man out on 73. In return,High Stables struggled in their pursuit off the runs due to brilliant bowling from Wali and Razzaq. They had the game in the balance as at one stage High Stables were on 25/0 from 8 overs. However the rest of the Oceans bowlers could not keep the pressure applied and High Stables coasted to victory without the loss of any wickets.

The captain has today reflected on the manner of his teams performance and victory over Coquet last night,'I thought we bowled and fielded very well.We need to cut down on the extras but it maybe could have been down to a few people trying too hard.My bowlers did not give much away and made it hard for the batsman to score. As for our batting, I thought Rian played a classy knock, really flambuoyant and good on the eye.Ali played sensibly and his innings was crucial in getting us home.I feel we need to concentrate a little hard when chasing such small scores and I got the feeling that during the changeover, a lot of boys thought the game was good as over.Hence, this is where I felt the complacency set in and their was not that spark about our batting which would have been seen had we chased a bigger total.Nevertheless, we got the job done and that was the most important.
Khan said he was not too unhappy with getting only eight points,'First games are always very nervy and edgy. It's all about getting over the line and getting it out of the way.We did that without playing our best and this shows the sign of a good team in one that can win without firing on all cylinders.
Next up is a tricky away game against High Stables and a reunion with some old friends,'Yeah , we are looking forward to that game. They are a good team and have some excellent players.I think it will be exciting and I hope my team can give a good performance.
