Coquet beat an under strength Oceans team in one of the surprise results of the season. Oceans had a glut of stars missing and were only able to field 7 people. Oceans won the toss and elected to bat first. Oceans posted a competitive score of 119/7 from there 16 overs thanks largley to Rian 38, Ali 31 and Ratty 27. The latter two played very intelligently as at one stage Oceans looked to be bowled out rather cheaply. The score was never going to be enough and Coquet somewhat strolled home despite a few scares along the way. It was a disappointing defeat for Oceans and this now makes their next game against Three tuns a pivotal game for both teams.

The skipper today reflected on the two games against High Stables and Merz,'We got out of jail against High Stables. It was a shocking performance with the bat and we know we could do better.I let certain individuals know what is expected of them after the game and what they need to do.I felt my team were down because of their partnership towards the end and they shouldnt have been because 120 is easily gettable with the batting we have. However, complacency set in, and we struggled. I must pay great credit to Sonu, Ali, and Owais who played excellent knocks to steer us home.It shows a sign of a good team that can win while playing badly.
The skipper then reflected on the game against Merz and the genius of Arsalan,'Well, what can you say.I'm so lucky to have him in my team. You can't set a field to him because no ground is big enough. This guy does not amaze me, he keeps doing it consistently every week.I think he is one of the best players in this whole league and if not the best.I honestly would not swap him for any other player in this league. He's just a world class player. Khan also payed tribute to Sonu and Rian who played flashy knocks,'Sonu's innings when unnoticed a bit.But let me tell you, that was a fantastic display of hitting too.He timed the ball on occasions and pulled the big shots out too.Rian played well too. I decided to open with him again and he did not let me down.We have got a well balanced team and I was delighted with our overall performance.
Khan has indicated that his team want to wrap up the league ASAP,'That's the aim. 'I said we will put out a statement and we did.Teams will find it difficult to stop us now.We want to go up and nothing will stop us from doing so.We are looking forward to our next game against Sparta.

Oceans won their second game in succession and this was a game which everyone on the ground will remember for many years to come.Arsalan Rahim was the toast of Oceans last nite as he turned the style on in what can only be described as 'breathtaking'.He played an innings which possessed hitting that was reminiscent of last year.Arsalan scored a spectacular 166 not out which included 17 massive sixes as Oceans broke all records and posted a score of 266/2 off their 14 overs.Rian 39 and Sonu 53 also played wonderful cameo's supporting Arsalan excellently. In reply, a shell shocked Merz could only muster a paltry 98/5 from their 14 overs with survival very much the key to their innings.Oceans must now be firm favourites for promotion in what has been an excellent week for them.

Oceans CC were put under serious examination by a resolute and hard working High Stables side. High Stables won the toss and elected to bat first. They were in big trouble at the mid point with their total on 62/7 off 9 overs. However, an excellent partnership by M.Hughes and J.Clogg got High Stables to a respectable and a defendable score of 120/8 from their 16 overs.A special mention should go to Owais who grabbed excellent figures of 5-10 from his three overs icluding two runouts. In reply Oceans were in serious trouble. Most of their main batsmen had perished with the score on 41/5 from 6 overs. However, Mr reliable Sonu and Ali played very sensible and ticked the score along without letting the run rate climb any higher. When they perished, Oceans still required 26 with only two wickets remaining and then 8 still required from the last over with the final pair at the crease.Owais produced a match winning display by holding his nerve and hitting an unbeaten 27 which included a 6 to win the game in the final over. This was a very nervy performance from Oceans but credit must be given to High Stables who played very well.

The captain has spoken in regards to the match against St Cuthberts last night,'It was a very difficult match for us and I did predict it may be a close one.St Cuthberts are a form team and they have good knowledge of this ground so it made it more difficult for us.They are a good team and have some good players. However, I must pay credit to my team for battling very hard and their rewards were paid off at the end when we won the match.
Khan later said that 140 was a good score but also a gettable one,'I think it was defintely chaseable. At one stage they were on course but Razzaq bowled very well in the middle phase and that for me was crucial in us winning. We batted very well although I was a little disappointed we could not get up to 150 or 160.I felt mine and Sonu's partnership was crucial and if we could have stuck around for another over then we would have definetely reached our target.Nevertheless, it was a great victory for us and we are looking forward to our next game and hopefully keep up this winning habit.
