League Start up 2016

The minutes of the League Meeting held on 12th April may now be downloaded.

The start to the season already looks tricky following worse than usual April rains. The Merz & McLellan Cup scheduled for Sunday 24th can not now be played at Ponteland and HAS BEEN MOVED TO SOUTH NORTHUMBERLAND, 1:30 start. Stuart Taylor will skipper the President's XI as Dave Waters is still at 'walkabout creek' in Aus!

Week 1 League fixtures have been confirmed; Cup ties for the following week should be confirmed by Monday 25th April cc Fred Wiles, Cup Officer.

Various News Items

From Ian Wardle see NCB website for 'Tesco Bags of Help' Grants of up to £12,000 available for community projects that improve local green spaces.

Also Club Open Days, supported by Waitrose - www.ecb.co.uk/clubopendays.

Also Given the recent weather the NCB have delayed the first ECB Coach Support Worker course which will now take place on Sunday 24th April, a week later than the original date. There is still time to register.

Also information from Prudhoe Cricket Club that they will no longer be able to fulfil their fixtures in the West Tyne Cricket League, this in effect means that there will be a ground available for use throughout the season, ideally they are looking for any interested parties who would be keen to use and take over upkeep of the ground. Interested parties should contact Ian.

Furthermore: New Hartley are offering for free, a limited quantity of used cricket equipment; things like chairs, tables, scoreboard, Hose pipe, boundary markers, bails, some batting pads, paint, bins, and other bits and bobs - the two containers are also to go and most importantly, considering the weather, a bag of sawdust; rumoured to be Mr Halls last cricket bat!

The Just Sport Cup draw was made at the League Meeting on 12th April. Teams knocked out in the first round are entered in to the Paddlers Plate.

League Meeting 12th April

The Calling Notice for the April Meeting is available to download. You are also reminded of the request to update your team details summary on the website.

The Meeting will be held downstairs in the older building at Blue Flames - the Amble Suite.

Club Particulars Updated 13/3/16

An updated file may be downloaded. Please advise any changes to don@catley.org. Changes will be announced at the meeting on April 12th as amendments to the Fixtures Booklets which are now being collated at Capabilities Printers.

Would each club now please also update directly on the team web pages of the website their brief Team Details for the first point of contact and ground directions. Administrator access can be obtained from John.Reed@blueyonder.co.uk
