Sadly we have had notification from Alan Walton that Aletasters have resigned from the League owing to a severe shortage of players. Clearly clubs should be aware that their League fixtures are thus cancelled and in the Paddlers Plate City Sharks now have a bye to Round 2.

Congratulations to Kirkwood for their third successive winning of the Merz & McLellan Cup. Stu Taylor won the toss for the President's XI who batted first. In the allotted 40 overs they scored an impressive 291-2 at South Northumberland with Jordan Armstrong 91, Ross Symington 30 and Ben O'Brien not out 137.
However, Kirkwood blazed off from the start with 78 from Kamran Mansoor, 132 from Jaswinder Singh to overtake the President's total in only the 32nd over and with 4 wickets to spare. Don Catley, Ben O'Brien and Thomas Rahmin each took 2 wickets but catches dropped saw the cup back with Kirkwood for another year.
Thanks to Gordon Halliday and South North for their hospitality and good arrangements.
