NCL Retain Duke of Northumberland Cup

(Posted On Mon 11 July, 2016)

NCL won the toss at Bates Cottages on Sunday and elected to bat. They posted 208-8 off 40 overs with 7 batsmen making double figures and S Wales top scoring with 57 not out from a good variety of shots! Richard Crawford and Matthew Walton each took 2 wickets and there were two catches and a superb run out from Jaswinder Singh.

The NEMWCL President's XI replied with 174 all out in the 38th over after a good start with six batsmen in double figures and Singh top scoring with 37 and the good crowd transfixed for the next big shot. ECB Survey for Recreational Cricketers

(Posted On Thu 7 July, 2016)

Via Ian Wardle: Recreational cricketers – have your say

Have your say and influence the future of your cricket by taking part in this year’s National Cricket Playing Survey.

The 2016 survey is now open and is the shortest ever – a ‘pulse-check’ taking less than 10 minutes. You can give feedback on your satisfaction with the game, the effectiveness of any changes you’ve experienced, and your thoughts on how your club cricket should continue to change.

By taking the survey, you will also have the chance to win a £250 voucher for the ECB online shop, which stocks all the latest playing equipment.

Whether you’re a first team regular, or play the odd Sunday friendly game, this is your chance to make your views heard and get the cricket you want.

As a result of over 75,000 responses in the last 3 years, more than 100 leagues have made the changes players want to see, from earlier start times and shorter travel distances, to introducing innovative formats and rule changes, as well as greater opportunities for women, girls and disability cricketers to play the game.
